our Story

MORÉ NOIR is a contemporary swim and resort wear brand founded by sisters Sandra and Karla to bring the sensibility of ready to wear to swimwear. A nod to their native Bulgaria, the name stands for the Black Sea they keep coming back to.

Contemporary Swimwear

Their work fuses timeless style with a distinctly modern attitude to deliver collections that flaunt a new kind of romance. The result is glamorous with a touch of the undone, intricate yet raw.

With a focus on fabric and finishes, the two deal in thoughtful, beautifully made pieces for like minded women to enjoy, mix and match creatively, and keep as part of their wardrobe for seasons to come. Detailed with real silk, they are sustainably made in small batches using mostly regenerated nylon.

Collections are beautifully feminine, innately elegant – inspired by urban culture, born of a love for sharing all things precious.

Our very own collection of beautifully shot images, hovering somewhere between fabrication and truth. Leaving us forever caught between reality and fantasy.

What we love about art is the way it touches the most delicate strings in our souls. Sometimes it is food for thought. Sometimes it amuses, makes you dream… at times it can even make you cry. Art make us feel, well... alive!

Silly and profound, big and small screen, these are other people’s stories we recognise parts of ourselves in. A peculiar fusion of love, loss, descent, and triumph, they make us feel high and low, much like the pieces we create.

Never underestimate the power of a good interior. As we spent our lives mostly inside a home, an office or a studio, the kind of vibes we get from the interiors we inhabit really do make a difference. It is as if wearing that little black dress that always makes you feel and look great. We value and admire the careful and delicate observation that goes behind the interiors we love, so we want to share them with you.

Our muses are women we admire for their innate elegance, strong and unique personality. There is nothing more beautiful than a woman exuding that kind of quiet confidence. Being true to herself, comfortable in her perfect imperfection.

I remember sitting at the back of my bigger sister’s car, Massive Attack playing loud on the stereo and us singing along. I now ride on the front seat but not much has changed. It is on those long drives we take to the seaside and back that we share the most intimate moments of love. The love we have for music, dreams and each other. Beautiful voices telling us stories, whispering in our ears… So even in the quiet, there’s the sound of our favourite songs in the background… our very own, private soundtrack to every moment of every day. And then we get to the sea.
